"Presby... wait who?"

     Yep, it was Presbyterian who took on the Kansas State Wildcats last night and what a job they did. Eventhough they lost 76-67 they made the Wildcats work, run, pass, and shoot, under heavy pressure from the Blue Hoes. They even got within three points around four minutes left in the second half. Coach Frank Martin said on FSKC, "We're supposed to get better, not worse, and we got worse,".

     Meanwhile No. 22 Texas faced off agaisnt No. 16 ranked Illinois. It was a hard fought battle that resulting in an overtime 90-84 Longhorn victory. Booth teams played like it was March in the first half heading to the locker rooms with a 45-45 score. After half, the Longhorns made a 11-2 run which was anserwed by the Illini with a 15-3 run. Texas will play No. 4 Pittsburg while Illinois will play Maryland.

     Shifting to the North division, Kansas takes on North Texas tonight at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, KS. The Jayhawks are undefeated so far this pre-season. Bill Self and the team are ready to get the season underway. The Jayhawks will tipoff at 7:00 p. m. on Jayhawk Television. More to come fron the Big 12 Journal!
